A year in pictures - 2009

I still cannot believe that this year is coming to a close. Well not just the year, the decade too! It's weird to think that at the beginning of this year I was a mother to a nearly 5 month old, and now I am the mother to a walking, talking, dancing, 16 month old - crazy!! I wanted to take a moment and look at a year in pictures of Little Miss Riley...

January 2009 - 5 months old
We used to call her "toops" because of the toupee of hair that sat on top of her head!!

February 2009 - 6 months old
Riley was baptized and celebrated her very 1st Valentine's Day on the same day

March 2009 - 7 months old
Springtime was a favorite! Swings and walks at the park were always fun.

April 2009 - 8 months old
Riley celebrated her 1st Easter and mommy and daddy celebrated their 2nd Anniversary

May 2009 - 9 months old
Riley celebrated her 1st Memorial Day and Mother's Day. She also helped celebrate mommy's 29th birthday by learning to crawl.

June 2009 - 10 months old
By June she was a crawling machine. She also helped daddy celebrate his birthday and his 1st Father's Day.

July 2009 - 11 months old
Riley was eating mostly table food and enjoying almost everything she tried.

August 2009 - Happy 1st Birthday Riley Paige!!!!
Riley learned the art of walking this month (and she has been on the go ever since)!

September 2009 - 13 months old
Riley doesn't stop walking, talking or dancing for a minute - she has a ton of energy and mommy and daddy are exhausted!!

October 2009 - 14 months old
Riley enjoyed all of the fun fall activities which included apple and pumpkin picking. We had a very successful girl's weekend and Riley celebrated her 2nd Halloween as a kitty cat.

November 2009 - 15 months old
Riley celebrated her 2nd Thanksgiving and helped mommy and daddy decorate for Christmas. It was this month that Riley truly brushed up on and showed off her comedic chops...she is hilarious!!

December 2009 - 16 months old
Riley celebrated and enjoyed her 2nd Christmas. She loved opening presents and spending time with some family. She is more active than ever now (and mommy and daddy are more tired than ever)!

I can't help but say that the Clark Family had a wonderful year. We hope that 2010 brings us even more health and happiness and we hope the same for all of you out there!!

Happy New Year!!

Simply having a wonderful Christmas time!

Wow! Christmas this year was so awesome!!! I had so much fun getting ready for the big day and then spending the day with my family was even better. Here is a little bit of how I simply had a wonderful Christmas...

On Christmas Eve I helped mommy bake cookies, got to open one small present AND tracked Santa!

On Christmas morning - Santa had left some goodies behind. I opened lots of presents which were all awesome!

After opening gifts we got ready for a drive to visit Juh-Juh, Grandpa, Aunt Jenny, Uncle D, Aunt Laurie and Uncle Adam and Keira in New Jersey. I got even more presents there. Keira and I played and played and she shared all of her toys (old and new) with me. We celebrated Aunt Laurie's birthday and she let me and Keira help blow out the candles!!

We spent the night at Keira's house and as usual the slumber party was a great big success. I could not have asked for a better Christmas.

Hope everyone out there enjoyed their Christmas as much as I did mine. Merry Christmas!!!

Love,
Riley Paige

Lights on the Lake

Tonight we went to Lights on the Lake. Mommy says that we went last year, but since I was so little I really don't remember. Mommy's work gave her a free ticket to go, so me, daddy, mommy and Uncle Matt piled in the car and headed across the street to drive through the lights. I started out in the back seat trying to see the lights.

Then mommy thought I couldn't see them very well. She decided she was going to pull a "Brittney Spears" and have me sit in the front on Uncle Matt's lap. I'm glad she did, I could see the lights so much better.

I saw so many different lights. They were all so pretty. I saw Santa, elves, the Wizard of Oz and lots of snowmen.

What a fun night!

Oh baby tooth fairy where are you???

It all began on Friday when I received a phone call from daycare saying Riley had a fever, barely slept and was super cranky. I knew it was that pesky upper right molar just trying to break its way through the gum. So I picked Riley up from daycare, had a not-so-fun trip home and let Riley lay down.

I checked her temperature (and so did she).

We started to have a good girls night while daddy went out with co-workers, but Riley was in a lot of pain. She had a very runny nose, which made her cough (and not be able to sleep), a slight fever and of course it didn't help that we had to pin her down to take medicine.

Riley finally fell asleep about 3 hours after her usual bedtime.

But don't let this picture fool you. Riley has not been doing so much of this and now the whole Clark house is both tired and cranky. I am putting in a request, a desperate plea, a NEED. I NEED for these (as of right now) 2 teeth to pop through! Poor Riley is in a lot of pain and I just want our happy Riley back. If anyone out there bumps into the baby tooth fairy, please point her to our house - mommy, daddy and Riley will forever be grateful!!!!!

Play! Play! Play!

Yesterday we went to Rochester and went to the Strong National Museum of Play. What an awesome day!! Mommy and daddy met up with some old friends and the best part of meeting them was that they had a kid like me named Ryan. He was pretty cool. Here is some of the fun I had. I would like to show you everything, but then this would be the longest blog ever!!!

Here I am trying to find Nemo!

Here I am chatting it up with Elmo...hope Abby Cadabby doesn't get jealous!!

Playing with some toys

Brushing some really big teeth

Me and my new friend Ryan

I loved the Butterfly Garden, there were other things besides butterflies like turtles, fish and birds!

Building with blocks!

Pretending to shop like mommy at the mini Wegman's.

I had so much fun and cannot wait to go back!
