What a difference a year makes

Look familiar? One year ago today Jeremy and I found out that our little peanut was a girl. I can't even believe it's been that long - seems like it was just yesterday. Riley is growing up so quickly, but we we are enjoying every minute of it!!

Another month has gone by...

It's been a while since I have blogged myself. Let me catch you all up to speed on what I have been up to for the past month. After all, I think it's been one of the most exciting ones! For example this month I was moved out of the "infants" room at daycare and moved to the "mobile infants" room - guess this means I should work on my crawling skills.

I am loving story time. More than being read to, I like to pull the books away from mommy and daddy and try to either tear the pages or just put it in my mouth. Sometimes I like to think I can read the books myself.

This month I got my first tooth!! Mommy is sad because she says that a tooth means that I am one step closer to toddlerhood and that makes her wonder where her baby has gone. If I could talk, I would tell her I'M RIGHT HERE!!!! Anyway, I have been working on my teeth brushing skills for my one lonely tooth. I think I definitely got the hang of it.

It's officially spring! Mommy and daddy have taken me to the park and the playground right in our apartment complex. I have been spending more time sitting up like a big girl in my big girl carriage. I have to tell you, I am a fan of sunshine and mommy and daddy love it because I seem to nap better after an afternoon out. Another big milestone is that I am finally out of that baby car seat and in a big girl one. I can finally stretch out and don't feel all scrunched up in that other one - whew!

I was able to experience my first St. Patrick's Day and celebrate my Irish heritage. Mommy says my name is Irish. It means courageous - which by the way, I totally am!

I think it's safe to say I have had an awesome month. Next month will be fun too. A visit to Gramps and Juh Juh's, Easter, and who knows what else. Stayed tuned for more of my milestones and adventures.

A trip to the park

Spring is coming and today was a beautiful day to take a trip to the park. It seems as though we weren't the only ones who had this brilliant idea, but everyone in the county did too. We headed over to Onondaga Lake Park - boy was it busy. There were so many kids, adults and dogs there.
We decided taking a walk would be the best bet. First, we stopped off down by the lake to see if we could see any ducks.

No ducks in this part of the lake. But we did see an opportunity for a family photo.

We walked more until we found a spot were the ducks were hanging out. Mommy and Riley watched the ducks fly and skid across the water. Some people started feeding the ducks (which you're not supposed to) and all the evil seagulls started flocking over, we moved away quickly.

So Riley being the nosy one as usual, was content to watch the people walking by. She especially loved looking at all the different kinds of dogs at the park. There were big ones, little ones and in between ones.

Once home, Riley treated herself to a sippy cup full of fresh water. Mmmm Mmmm!

We can't wait until the weather stays like this - park trips are so much fun!!

I'll take one of these...and some of those

Riley had her first spring time shopping spree. She did pretty well and knew a deal when she saw one. Clearly Riley loves all her new clothes. We're going to have to watch out with this one - she may become a clothes horse. Looks like daddy may need a second job to support this habit!!

Peek-a-Boo

The other day Riley was hanging with mommy watching her fold laundry. Riley was sitting on the bed with her blanket and I noticed that she was pulling the blanket up to her face and then pulling it down as to say "PEEK-A-BOO!!" So we taped and taped and taped and finally got a decent showing of her new trick. As usual, Riley saw the camera and did not want to play - but here is the best we got! Hope you enjoy our little comedienne as much as we do!
