St. Patrick's Day - 2014

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

From my little Irish Princesses!

s

It's not birds chirping...

Nope!  I believe the unfortunate sound we were hearing a few days ago was that of the snow plows.  It's as if winter needed one last hurrah before the first day of Spring in a few days.  On 03.12.14 Riley had yet another snow day.  Winter storm Vulcan dropped about 10 inches of snow on us!!  The ladies stayed home while daddy went to work.  We had a fun day!!

First it was breakfast in front of the TV!

Riley insisted I paint her nails.

And do her hair - "two braids, one on each side."

The girls looked out the window a lot to see how much snow had fallen.

Snow days are the best days to make cupcakes!  Tye dye cupcakes with Funfetti mix was on the menu!!

There was relaxing (Avery and mommy got to nap).

Riley frosted the cupcakes - all by herself.

Daddy came home early and tended to the heavy duty work of shoveling the driveway.

While it was great spending the day at home, it is safe to say everyone here is OVER the winter and ready to see some grass, flowers, leaves on the tree, warmer temperatures and SUNSHINE!!!!!!!  Bring it on spring!!

February Wrap Up

Holy cow - it's March!!!  Somehow we survived the very, very cold and snowy month of February.  Not too much going on here as it has been way too bitterly cold to be outside.  I also had some trouble blogging so forgive me for the lack of posts and (unfortunately) pictures.

Riley enjoyed winter break.  She spent most of her week home with daddy.  Her week included going to the movies to see the Lego Movie, a trip to Barnes and Noble and lots of playing in and outdoors.  Riley turned 5 1/2 on the 21st.  I guess once you hit 5 1/2, half birthdays are no longer big deals.  Riley seemed to be unfazed at the idea of being closer to 6.

Avery battled yet ANOTHER pesky ear infection.  We were so lucky to make it as long as we did, but then to get hit twice within a 2 month period...grrrrr!  Thankfully she takes medicine like a champ.  She also has one new little tooth coming in.  She has also been doing a fabulous job with her words.  Consistently "up", "help", "book" and "all done" are what we hear most.  But "bye bye", "more", "hi" and "apple" can be heard daily!  She loves to try and say new words - my favorite was the day she pointed to my eyebrow and said "eyebrow."  Avery turned 16 months this month and we're just inching our way to 1 1/2!

We are very much looking forward to spring!  Fresh air, sun, warmer weather and t-ball just to name a few of things we're looking forward to seeing!  Til then, stay warm!!!!
