Thankful Thursday

It's that time of year again when people are supposed to reflect and share about what they are thankful for. Well since I am a little older now, I decided that some of the things I was thankful for last year are different than the things I am thankful for this year. So, I am thankful for the following things:

Blocks - they keep me entertained. I love to open the bag and dump them all over the floor, knock down whatever mommy or daddy build with them, I use them to practice my throwing skills and a bonus with blocks are that I get to see mommy and daddy try to refrain from yelling and cursing when they step on one (it really is pretty funny)!

Sticker books - these also keep me entertained!! I like to place stickers in sticker books wherever I want. I also like to peel them back out of the book and eat them. I also like to leave them laying on the floor so that mommy and daddy are constantly peeling them off their socks and slippers - again hilarious!!!!

Cousin time - it may be weeks that go by until Keira and I get to see each other, but when we get together we are partners in crime, Laverne & Shirley, Thelma & Louise...I think you get it! There is no time like cousin time! I learn a lot from my best big cousin ever and I hope that we stay this close forever!!

Cooking - I love making different recipes for mommy and daddy to try. Of course you can't try any recipe without saying "Mmmmmm" after trying. Mommy says I'm a close second to her in the cooking department...someday I will be number one cook and cook lots of dinners for mommy and daddy!!

The dining room table - or as I like it to be known "Fort Riley." I like to play under there, this playing includes stealing mommy's wine glasses that are conveniently located right next to the table and hiding daddy's keys.

My family - I am most thankful for my family!! I love my mommy and daddy and I feel like the luckiest girl alive to have them as my parents (and I know they feel like they're the luckiest parents alive to have me for their daughter). But I not only love and are thankful for my mommy and daddy, but I am equally as thankful for all of my extended family. Boy, I feel like I can go on and on about what I am thankful for but I think you get it.

I had a great Thanksgiving and felt thankful to be around the entire Clark family. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed their time with family and friends and ate more than their fair share!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Love,
Riley Paige

Happy Turkey Day!!

One Wild Night!

Riley has a nightly routine - it's pretty simple: bath, bottle, bed! It hasn't changed since she has been born. All day yesterday Riley appeared wired but we figured all that energy would eventually lead to a good night sleep. Yeah right. Last night Riley would not go to sleep. I thought that since I was just laying in bed watching the AMAs that she could lay with me - well true Riley fashion, she did everything but lay with me, take a look:

Throwing herself backwards and cracking herself up

This was about 20 seconds of rest

She may look like she is sitting, but she was actually dancing to a performer on the AMAs

Standing on our bed (which is prohibited), but Riley doesn't care about the rules!

Cracking herself up in the mirror

Daddy seemed to think that Riley's craziness came from the Lions second win of the year (hence the Lions pjs), but if that's the case then I guess we won't have to worry about too many more nights like this!!

Counting to 10

While it's not Riley counting to 10 on her own - it's pretty close. We're impressed!!

May I have this dance?

Riley's hiding spot

The other day I noticed Riley throw a toy block into her laundry basket. She thought it was funny. She threw the one block in, and then ran away. I forgot about the block and never thought to fish it out of the laundry basket until today. As we were cleaning the house, Jeremy was cleaning Riley's room. I walked over to the very full laundry basket and said "Oh, there is a block in here I need to get out." Well as I dug through the laundry I found more than one block.

Ok, yes that is a half eaten cookie next to the rubber ducky cow and in between the yellow and green block (although it is hard to see) there is a wine glass...that's right my friends, a wine glass!! You can imagine our surprise when we found all of these "goodies." I think we are now going to have to hide Riley's laundry basket!!!

Just can't get enough

It's been too long since my last blog (I know, I know - bad mommy). And although Riley does something cute at least 100 times a day it's difficult to document a VERY mobile 14 month old. So this blog is just to say that we are loving everyday with our very adorable, smart and funny Riley Paige - and well we just can't get enough of her sweetness and smiles!

She is truly a doll!

Trick - or - Treat

Yesterday was Halloween and I finally got to go trick-or-treating with mommy and daddy!

I went to the first house with daddy and rang the doorbell. A nice man answered the door but I didn't care about how nice he was, I just wanted the candy!

I got a lollipop from one of the houses and I needed to have that lollipop in order to be energized to continue my quest for candy.

It was a pretty successful night and the best part was that when I was done trick-or-treating, mommy let me have chocolate - now what girl doesn't love that???

I hope everyone had a safe Halloween and got lots of goodies! Next stop...THANKSGIVING!
