Riley's 1st Haircut

While I was pregnant with Riley, Jeremy and I used to dream about what our little girl would look like. I believed Riley was going to be a little peanut with brown hair and brown eyes, while Jeremy believed that she would have blonde hair and blue eyes. We'd argue over her features, but the one thing we could agree on was that Riley would have some crazy hair. Both Jeremy and I were blessed to have some pretty curly hair as toddlers and to this day we both have pretty unmanageable hair (although we do our best to hide it).

Well we were right. To know Riley is to know that she has some of the weirdest and craziest hair. She has beautiful color and cute curls...but that doesn't stop her hair from having a mind of its own. We never intended on getting her hair cut this soon, but after cutting Jeremy's hair earlier this week (yep that's right, I cut his hair), Riley decided she wanted a hair cut too.

So it was off to Snip Its. Riley had been excited all week long about her haircut, but about 5 minutes before we left the house she freaked out - she no longer wanted her hair cut - but we went anyway. The experience was not what I wanted it to be. She screamed the whole time and begged and pleaded to go to Target instead. The hairdresser Tina, was a saint! She managed to trim Riley's hair despite Riley's attempts to not sit still in the chair. In the end, through her tears she thanked Tina and now loves her new haircut. Hopefully our next visit to Snip Its will be VERY different!!

The last of our baby's "crazy hair"

Right after the cut, she seems happy with the results.

After: The back of her hair

Sitting pretty!

How to Believe

Riley's favorite movie of the month is Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue. She loves, loves, loves the song in it called "How to Believe." Here is what generally happens at the end of the movie - which to me is WAY to cute to not capture of film!

"Spring and summer
Love and laughter
We'll live happily ever after
We'll be higher than we thought we'd be
Because you showed me
How to believe."

Girl's Weekend...again!

Girl's weekend 2010 came and went! We had an awesome time hanging out with our favorites. This time Girl's Weekend was held back at our house where we enjoyed beautiful fall weather and fun activities.

On Saturday we went to Critz Farms in Cazenovia. We went there last year too, but this year the girls were older and could enjoy the activities more. While at the farm, the girls went on the Cow Train, played on the slides and playground and loved the petting zoo area. They also checked out the pumpkin patch and enjoyed a tractor ride.

The girls enjoyed each others company. There was a lot of dancing and singing and playing!!

On Sunday, we went to the zoo. Riley and Keira loved spending time there.

The girls watched 2 (yes 2) Tinkerbell movies over the weekend. Even the adults watched the movies too.

The girls made sand art too.

On Monday, after Juh Juh and Aunt Laurie left we took the girls to the playground where they slid, swung and climbed their little hearts out!!

As always, girls weekend was a HUGE success. Can't wait to do it all again after the holidays!

Life's a circus!

Today we went to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus! We traveled to Binghamton to see the Illuscination show. The show was awesome!! We sat incredibly close to the ring and Riley was just in awe of her surroundings.

The show included magicians, trapeze artists, juggling clowns, elephants, lions and horses. It was a 2 hour show that Riley enjoyed more than I could have ever expected her to!

It was a perfect day and Riley was incredibly happy - which made it all worth while.
