It's been a pretty busy June...and it's not over yet!

June has been pretty darn busy.  I started out the month celebrating Daddy's birthday.  We had family over on the Sunday before his birthday (that's when we had cake).  Then on his actual birthday mommy and I took him to dinner where I told the waitress it was his birthday.  So I got to share an ice cream sundae with him.  It was so delicious!!!

Then I found out I was going to be a big sister to a little sister.  I was so excited because even though I said I didn't care if I had a brother or a sister - I really wanted a sister!  So now October can't come fast enough.

We celebrated Father's Day at Babcha and Pop's house.  It was a hot day - so I spent it in the pool.  But mommy did manage to get me to pose daddy for one picture!!

Yesterday we traveled to Juh-Juh and Grandpa's house for a sleepover.  Then today it was off to New Jersey to celebrate Keira's 5th birthday.  She had her party at Screamin' Parties.  I did a lot of screaming (and sliding and bouncing).  It was such a fun day!!!

Next weekend I have another birthday party to go to.  Sophia's turning one!!  Can't wait to see the family and party it up!!

The countdown also continues for the great beach house vacation in OBX - 13 more days!!!!  It definitely can't come soon enough!

And we are officially...

TEAM PINK!!!

It's hard to believe that Jeremy is going to be outnumbered around here, but yep he sure will be!!  We are so excited to be having another little girl and cannot wait until October to meet her.  Riley is beyond thrilled that she will have a baby sister.  Here are some pics taken at the big sonogram.  Baby is looking good, measuring great and everything appears normal!  At the end is a little video of us telling Riley it was a girl - I just loved her reaction!!  So precious.  I can only hope that Riley and her little sister will have as awesome of a relationship as I have with my sisters!!!

17 week update

Today I had my monthly doctor's appointment.  Riley came with me and was happy to get a chance to hear the heartbeat (she said "it's very loud").  Everything is looking good.  In 3 short weeks we go back for our anatomy scan where we will find out if we're playing for TEAM PINK or TEAM BLUE!!!  Can't wait - but until then, here is an update of my progress.

How far along? 17 weeks 2 days.

Total weight gain: 6lbs total (but none in the last 4 weeks according to the doctor's office)

Maternity clothes? Definitely tops (unless they're flowy non-maternity) and for pants maternity are still kind of big but my regular clothes are super snug.  Thank goodness for the belly band!

Stretch marks? None - but I know they're coming

Sleep: Much better - I get up only once a night.

Best moment this week: Taking Riley to my monthly check-up so she can hear the heartbeat (140 bpm) and scheduling the BIG sonogram!!

Miss Anything? It's summer and it's BBQ season...I would love to sit in my yard with a beer!

Movement: YES!!  Just this past week, lots of popcorn-like feeling and flutters.

Food cravings: None

Food aversions: Tacos

Gender: Only 20 more days until we know!!

Labor Signs: Nope

Belly Button - Oh it's about half in, half out

Wedding rings on or off? On

Looking forward to: The big reveal in 20 days!!  Will the genders be evened out or will Jeremy be out numbered????

Self-portrait taken in the bathroom (no I am not a giant - just standing on Riley's step stool).

S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night!

Wow, tonight was a fun, fun night!!  After my awesome play date with my friend Molly, mommy and I came home and daddy BBQ'd.  I love when we get to eat outside, I always tell mommy and daddy that the nights we get to eat outside are the best nights ever!!

After a yummy dinner made by daddy I took a bath and watched some TV.  Mommy called me back upstairs a little while later where she told me to go outside by daddy.  What I saw was so cool!  We had our firepit going.  We were going to roast MARSHMALLOWS!!!!!   I was so so excited!

Mommy let me eat lots of marshmallows, what can I say, I really really like LOVE marshmallows.

Daddy let me help put the fire out which was super fun!!

I told mommy and daddy tonight that this was the best night of my life and asked if we could have a fire every night.  They said no, but did tell me that we could do it again next weekend for mommy's birthday.  I don't think I can hold out that long...but I'll do my best!!!

It's only May....I am so excited for the summertime!!!!!!!!!

Now that's starting to look like a baby!

I went for another appointment this past Friday and was able to see our little nugget.  S/he is starting to look way more like a baby than a little blob!  The baby was extremely active in my belly - and was wiggling around A LOT!!  S/he has loooooong legs (see pic #2) and is still measuring about a week ahead of schedule.  I was able to see the spine, bladder (which was nice and full), brain and nasal bone.  They measured the baby's NT which was right in the normal range.  So far so good - this little nugget is doing just fine!

I am looking forward to about 6ish more weeks when I can stop calling this baby "nugget"!  Can't wait to find out what this little one is so we can start focusing on names!!

Is there a spot in the baby book for this?

This morning I got the phone call no parent wants to get.  It went something like this  - Riley fell, she has a gash in her chin and we can't get it to stop bleeding.  Insert sheer panic here!!  Instead of asking questions my response is "I am leaving right now!!"  My entire drive to day care included thoughts about how bad the cut is, was there blood everywhere, how scared is Riley right now.

Thankfully I arrived at day care in record time and saw Riley sitting quietly in a chair reading a book.  She got up when she saw me and ran over and said "Eli bumped me off the ball."  Missi showed me the cut and while it definitely was not as bad as I had imagined it in my head, it wouldn't stop bleeding.  Jeremy showed up a few minutes later and we decided we would bring Riley in to see her pediatrician rather than sit in the ER.  We got an appointment for 2:30 and it was only 12!  We went home and ate lunch, after an hour we looked at the cut again and it was still bleeding.  We made the decision (after talking with my big sis) that we would try Urgent Care instead of the ER.  Again, I really never thought the cut was bad enough for stitches.

We got to Urgent Care and sure enough within seconds of being called back, the doctor took one look and said Riley needed a couple of stitches.  Riley, who up until this point had been a champ began to freak out (secretly I did too - on the inside of course).  She had to be strapped down, shot up and stitched up.  Horrible experience for a parent and I am sure a horrible and traumatic experience for poor Riley.  She screamed her head off, Jeremy and I promised her the world if she would just be a big girl and get the stitches in.

35 minutes later we walked out with a scared 3-year-old and 2 stitches.  From there we went to Target for the present we promised her (a toy of her choice, no questions asked).  What a trying day!!  I truly hope we NEVER have to experiences this again!!

My brave little girl!

Toy of choice - Jessie from Toy Story!

By the end of the night it was business as usual - Coco Puffs (with no milk) for an after dinner snack!
